Rebuilding the site…Again!

Yep, it's happening again! I'm actually getting off my behind and rebuilding the site, after a couple of years of being ignored. This will take a while, but I'm trying to restore as much of the original content at the same time I am finalising the new design. You'll know when this is finished by the simple fact that this post will no longer be at the top.

Tayla decided come along on the 26th of July to some dancing friends Marc and Tamara. She weighed in at 3.335kg and thanks to the wonders of mms/sms we even have a photo.

Important Information

On Thursday the 4th of next month (may), at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06.

That won't ever happen again.

You may now return to your (normal ?) life.

BASH: The octal problem

I was writing a whole pile of scripts which performed end of month tasks for this webserver, including stats archival, monthly backups, clean up bits and pieces. They all ran great until I hit the end of August and BANG…everything fell apart in a heap of “value too great for base (error token is “08″)” Damn, said I, so off to find a way to fix it all.

The boom continues

We found out this weekend that the baby boom around us has expanded yet again. Our friends Dan and Linda are expecting their first sometime mid next year. It has also just occured to me that I haven't mentioned the Amanda (Mels sister) and Damien are also expecting, only 10 weeks behind us.

We are the champions.

Well...What a weekend this has been. Saturday was the Spring Ball and Dance-O-Rama for Victorian Arthur Murray Dance Studios, and a day Mel and myself have been working toward since our return from the honeymoon in April. The day started off just like any other Saturday. Mel went out to run some errands at the shops and I stayed home to mow the lawns.
